From contributor J:
You can do a manual import of a DXF into Biesseworks. Everything will come in as geometries only. You will then have to assign all the tooling. Either set up a new Biesseworks program and then do a 'manual import', or just file-open in Biesseworks. Just make sure the file type is 'DXF' format.

From contributor W:
Make sure that your DXF is converted to MM.

From contributor B:
Your DXF does not necessarily have to be in metric. There is a 'unit of measurement' option on the DXF Definition tab in settings. I import DXF's drawn in inches all the time without a problem.

From contributor Y:
Good point. Just make sure of conversion if drilling holes in inches. Set your decimal character points to max (3). Sometimes if you your .DXF has three plus characters you can end with a rounding problem and the drills will not match up to their exact diameter. You can avoid this by using the manual boring option by calling out the individual tool (T1, T2). Also another great feature for multiple geometries is on the import utility called 'divide'. It will separate multiple geometries into separate operations.

R.Peters Are you engravings all at the same depth, if so why not create a program using the milling function and just do a center tool correction to create the engraving, just import the dxf part into works and create. If the engraving has different depths, like the v carving within artcam pro, the i can help you with the exporting of the file onto the machine. Basically you should use the biesse nc 1000 export post or the biesse rover24xnc post, which ever runs straight into the quote program, if you have an older machine with the old editor program then there is a lot of changing going on. Ask your artcam dealer to help with this, or you can email me at if you need assistance. Regards Jeremy.

R.peters I presume you want to be able to mill certain shapes and lines and curves. First of all when you create a new program you get the program starting line, within this box left mouse click and you will get a pop up menu, choose insert then choose millings, basic, milling to bring up the milling parameters box, choose your speed, depth tool choice and tool correction and entry proceedure, with center corection you cannot choose to have a radious entry but you can enter the peice from above, play around with these procedures to see what they do for the job. Once you have done this click on the end of path and left mouse click insert millings, basic, milling, starting point, choose you point of start then enter.

If you choose a zero zero starting point you will see that you cannot produce a square or a circle, this is because it would go off the piece, but you can draw a line or a curve from this point. You see biesseworks does have basic drawing facitlities, but it does take a long time to get to the grips of the way the work, you need to know exactly the start and end points of lines and curves. Is this waht you are looking for, is so i hope i help a little. If you do a search i`m shure you can find a basic drawing package to create the drawings, i fond some freebee cad software here see what you can download, i use a cad package called AutoCAD, very expensive, as i do a lot of draughting with it. Thank you all for your reply's.but i know how to do the manual inputs such as the x and y, tool, depth and left right or center corrections.what im looking for is software that i can import my dxf or dwg files and then specify what tool and depth from there like alot of the other traditional cnc software for laser's, plasma's, waterjet's, etc. Chemdraw Ultra 11 Mac Crack. We have all of these wonderful toys but the software for each machine is different and none are compatible with the rover b 4.40 ftk router. Download Video Naruto Vs Pain Subtitle Bahasa Indonesia. the thing i dont like about biesseworks (we have the bare bones package) is that you have to manually input your drawings such as starting points and the line or arc and specify endpoints.basically for me its doing the same job twice and its very time consuming why should i have to do that when ive already drawn my part or engravings in auto-cad 2008.its tedious and getting very frustrating.

If this clarifies my needs and anyone has any suggestion.please let me know once again thank you. ' i am not going to tell you it is all possible as i know little about plasma but you might want to download the trial demo of aspire or vcarve pro. I am sure a fellow here named Ger21 can answer this better but wouldnt water jet require 2d only? I have helped biesse owners with the woodworking part so i am sure this is doable jim __________________ James McGrew camaster owner ' older water jets are only 2d but with 5 axis water jets you can do some fun 3d profiling '- Waterjet Dance '- Flow 5-Axis Waterjet. R Peters Are you telling me that you dont import the dxf file that you have orginally created with AutoCAD into biesseworks and select the lines curves and any other geometry that is to be cut and do a milling opperation from there on. When you start a new project within works you will get a part size box coming up, import the relavent data and then enter. Above the box with the part drawing in you will see two buttons highlighted, one manual import and another automatic import, choose the manual import and select the relavent dxf file that you have created before and create the job from there onwards, by clicking on the lines etc and if you want more than one line selected either draw a selection box over the whole file or press the ctrl button whilst selecting the lines needed to be cut, then within the drawing box, dont go out otherwise your selection will be lost left mouse click and choose import as, milling then the job box will appear.

Is this what you are trying to achieve.
